PokéXciting! Comes to Kuala Lumpur, Bringing First-Time Experiences and Smiles to All
KUALA LUMPUR, 13 September 2026 - The Pokémon Company (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara) celebrated Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with PokéXciting!, a two-day Pokémon fan event at KLCC Park on 12 and 13 September featuring a line-up of immersive Pokémon experiences.
The iconic KLCC Park was transformed into a Pokémon-filled wonderland, with Pokémon-themed decorations throughout the venue. Activities such as Pokégenic, Pokémon Meet & Greet, Pokémon Kids TV, and installations of life-sized Pokémon statues and balloons created plenty of opportunities for fans to explore, discover and interact with Pokémon. Additionally, in Pokémon GO, fans were able to catch the PokéXciting! Pikachu with a local Location Background, and enjoy a region-unique stamp rally. The GO Stamp Rally in KLCC Park will remain available for one month after the event date.
The highlight of the celebration was the Pikachu Parade and PokéXciting! Parade, which marked the debut of the PokéXciting! Pikachu in Malaysia. PokéXciting! Pikachu in a vibrant Turquoise costume brought a lively party spirit to Kuala Lumpur, joined by beloved Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee, and Pikachu in an energetic parade.
As evening fell, the excitement continued with the PokéXciting! Special Night Show, before culminating in a very first spectacular Pokémon Drone Show in KL, with Pokémon lighting up the Kuala Lumpur skyline in a dazzling aerial display.
Beginning 1 October 2026, Pokémon fans can look forward to participating in a mall-wide campaign as Ombak KLCC will be transformed with Pokémon-themed decorations and activities featuring four rotating themes: Pikachu, Fire-type Pokémon, Grass-type Pokémon, and lastly Water-type Pokémon. Shoppers can also take part in a series of Pokémon-themed activities and rewards, such as gift redemptions and fun colouring and crafting activities at the Concourse.
For those looking to get hands-on with Pokémon video games, Ombak KLCC will also host trial play sessions on the Nintendo Switch 2, for the latest game titles including Pokémon Pokopia and Pokémon Champions, alongside the Pokémon TCG New Trainer Journey, where fans can learn how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and receive rewards such as Demo Decks and Reward Voucher to redeem original-design TCG accessories.
