Regulation Set M-C kicks off on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, bringing a variety of Pokémon, including Z Mega Evolutions, to Pokémon Champions.

Regulations are the rules that govern things like which Pokémon species and held items are allowed in battle.

Overview of Regulation Set M-C

More Pokémon will become available in Pokémon Champions, joining  Pokémon from Regulation Sets M-A and M-B.

Pokémon new to Regulation Set M-C include the following:

  • Rillaboom

  • Baxcalibur

Note: Some of the Pokémon featured in the promotional video will not appear in Regulation Set M-C.

Battle Mechanics

Certain Pokémon can Mega Evolve if they’re holding a Mega Stone.

You can use Mega Evolution only one time per battle.

Mega Evolutions newly allowed under Regulation Set M-C include:

  • Mega Absol Z

  • Mega Lucario Z

  • Mega Garchomp Z


3. Mega Absol Z, Mega Lucario Z, and Mega Garchomp Z will appear in Pokémon Champions!

The Z Mega Evolutions Mega Absol Z, Mega Lucario Z, and Mega Garchomp Z will newly appear in Pokémon Champions for Regulation Set M-C.

Mega Lucario Z has a never-before-seen Ability that is making its first appearance in this title.

Category: Disaster Pokémon

Types: Dark/Ghost

Ability: Sharpness

Height: 3ʹ11″ (1.2 m)

Weight: 108 lbs. (49 kg)

Mega Absol Z’s Ability is Sharpness.

This Ability boosts the power of the Pokémon’s slicing moves by 50%.

Ability: Aura Guard

Mega Lucario Z’s Ability, Aura Guard, is a new Ability that’s making its first appearance in this title.

This Ability halves the damage the Pokémon takes from contact moves.

Mega Garchomp Z’s Ability is Levitate.

This Ability makes the Pokémon immune to Ground-type moves.

It also makes the Pokémon immune to statuses such as Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web.
