The Pokémon Company (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara) is pleased to announce the Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves games, the newest entries in the Pokémon series, to be released on Nintendo Switch 2 systems in a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027. Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, two all-new entries in the Pokémon series, will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
These new titles feature an open world to explore, with beautiful windswept islands and a vast ocean with glittering waves that ebb and flow. The Pokémon that live in harmony with this region's lush environment have developed their own unique ecosystems. By visiting these islands, you're sure to open the door to a brand-new adventure that could only be found here.
During this adventure, you'll be able to team up with all kinds of Pokémon to overcome both the difficult road ahead and even the forces of nature that block your path at times.

The three Pokémon you can partner up with are Browt, the Bean Chick Pokémon; Pombon, the Puppy Pokémon; and Gecqua, the Water Gecko Pokémon. Choose one to be your partner, and set out on a new adventure together!

6. The NHK Symphony Orchestra performs the main theme!
This game's main theme, which was featured in the first reveal video, was recorded by the NHK Symphony Orchestra. This year marks 30 years since the release of the first titles in the Pokémon series, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, in Japan, as well as one hundred years since the formation of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and the two have formed a powerful collaboration to liven up this celebratory year.
Pokémon and the NHK Symphony Orchestra have previously collaborated in musical performances, such as Pokémon Mini Concerts held in various locations across Japan, as well as in the Pokémon × NHK Symphony Special Orchestra 2023 performance and other special events. The profound yet delicate orchestral sound of the NHK Symphony Orchestra's performance will set the stage for a grand beginning of a new adventure. In addition, the NHK Symphony Orchestra × Pokémon Classical Concert Tour is slated to be performed across Japan this August. More details will be announced at a later date.
A behind-the-scenes video capturing how the main theme was recorded will also be released soon. You will be able to catch a rare backstage glimpse at the recording process and the NHK Symphony Orchestra's impactful performance, as well as learn more about orchestra members' own ties to Pokémon. The NHK Symphony Orchestra
The NHK Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1926. In addition to 54 regularly scheduled performances annually, the orchestra performs alongside world-class conductors and soloists in approximately 120 additional concerts held throughout Japan each year. They also perform on the world stage in events such as the Salzburg Festival, and in May 2025, the orchestra went on tour in Europe, with invitations to play at the Mahler Festival (at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw) and elsewhere. They also engage in a wide range of activities as a way of contributing to society, such as visiting schools and areas affected by disasters across Japan, as well as visiting hospitals to perform chamber music.

7. Brazilian Portuguese is officially added as a supported language!
Beginning with Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, Brazilian Portuguese will officially be supported as a language players can choose. Through the addition of new supported languages, we are working to make Pokémon easier for more people around the world to play, as we strive toward our brand's goal of bringing the world together through Pokémon. We hope you will enjoy your adventures in the Pokémon series, together with new friends and allies from around the world.
